---

# Section 3 — Technical Approach

> *This section provides outline headings only. Each heading must be completed by the human reviewer with specific, substantiated content before submission. Content must directly address the SOW requirements for the Senior Service & UX Designer role.*

---

## 3.1 Understanding of the Engagement

[PROVIDE: summarize NimbleStride's understanding of ASHC's specific service design and UX needs as described in the RFP SOW — what problem is being solved, who the end users are (citizens, staff, partners), and what outcomes ASHC expects. Reference specific SOW language.]

## 3.2 Service Design Methodology

NimbleStride applies a human-centred Double Diamond design process — Discover, Define, Develop, Deliver — aligned with our Agile/SAFe delivery model. Mohammed Yousuf Shariff has applied design-thinking facilitation in enterprise program contexts at Intact Insurance and Servus Credit Union, leading structured discovery workshops to translate stakeholder needs into actionable product backlogs; on this engagement, the same approach will be used to ensure ASHC's service design outcomes are grounded in real user needs before any prototyping begins.

## 3.3 UX Research & Discovery

User research will include semi-structured stakeholder interviews, contextual inquiry sessions with representative end users (applicants, staff, and partner agencies as identified in the SOW), journey mapping, and persona development; findings will be synthesized into an insight report reviewed and approved by ASHC before design work proceeds. Accessibility considerations — including users with disabilities and low digital literacy — will be embedded from the research phase, and all research sessions will be conducted in plain language with accommodations available on request.

## 3.4 Design & Prototyping

NimbleStride uses Figma as the primary tool for wireframing and prototyping, progressing from low-fidelity sketches through mid-fidelity wireframes to interactive high-fidelity prototypes, with each fidelity level reviewed and formally approved by ASHC before advancing. WCAG 2.1 AA compliance is validated at every stage using automated tooling (Axe, Lighthouse) and manual testing with keyboard navigation and screen readers, and is a mandatory gate in the Definition of Done for all user-facing deliverables.

**Accessibility Commitment:** All user-facing interfaces will be designed and tested to meet WCAG 2.1 AA, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, sufficient colour contrast, and responsive layouts. Accessibility will be validated through automated tooling and manual testing as part of the Definition of Done.

## 3.5 Stakeholder Engagement & Co-Design

NimbleStride engages ASHC stakeholders through structured discovery workshops at project kick-off to align on goals, user needs, and constraints, followed by co-design sessions with subject matter experts and end users at each major design milestone (concept, wireframe, prototype). Usability testing with representative users is conducted before finalizing each increment, with findings documented and fed back into the design backlog. A standing feedback loop — via shared design review sessions and a lightweight decision log — ensures ASHC has visibility and sign-off authority at every stage.

## 3.6 Delivery Methodology & Governance

NimbleStride Inc. delivers using an Agile/SAFe-aligned iterative approach led by a SAFe Program Consultant (SPC 6), Certified Scrum Master, and PRINCE2 Practitioner with 17+ years of enterprise delivery experience. Work is broken into short increments with working deliverables demonstrated each cycle, a clear Definition of Done, quality gates, and transparent flow metrics, providing ASHC with honest visibility into progress and risks throughout.

Mohammed Yousuf Shariff will serve as Project Leader, interfacing directly with ASHC's project manager. Monthly written status reports will be provided as required, covering: services completed during the reporting period; time schedule for portions not yet completed; and any other information requested by ASHC.

NimbleStride proposes two-week sprints with a working demo and sprint review at the close of each cycle, giving ASHC a minimum of two formal progress touchpoints per month beyond any contractual monthly reporting requirement. In addition to sprint reviews, we provide a brief written status update (progress, risks, decisions needed) at the end of each sprint, and schedule a monthly steering touchpoint with ASHC's designated contract authority to review flow metrics, milestone status, and any scope or priority changes. Governance touchpoints — such as phase-gate approvals or design sign-offs — will be scheduled to align with the SOW milestones confirmed at project kick-off.

## 3.7 Quality Assurance

Quality is built in, not bolted on: structured design reviews, usability testing with real end users, accessibility testing, and explicit quality gates before any deliverable is considered complete. Each increment must meet an agreed Definition of Done prior to acceptance.

QA checkpoints are embedded at three levels: (1) a Definition of Done applied to every design deliverable, requiring peer review, accessibility validation (WCAG 2.1 AA), and ASHC sign-off before an artifact is considered complete; (2) structured usability testing sessions — moderated, with representative ASHC end users — conducted at wireframe and high-fidelity prototype stages, with findings documented in a usability test report and prioritized for remediation; and (3) a living design decision log that records each significant design choice, the rationale, the alternatives considered, and the ASHC stakeholder who approved it, providing a traceable audit trail against requirements throughout the engagement.

## 3.8 Data Security & Privacy

All data will be hosted and processed in Canada on Canadian-region cloud infrastructure. Data will be encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+), with role-based least-privilege access and full audit logging. NimbleStride Inc. will adhere to POPA and all applicable privacy obligations. Personal Information will be stored exclusively in Canada and will not be transferred outside Canada without explicit written authorization from ASHC.

NimbleStride's standard data-security posture (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit, role-based least-privilege access, full audit logging, in-Canada hosting) is designed to meet Protected A requirements; however, we require ASHC to confirm the classification level (Protected A, Protected B, or other) applicable to this engagement and to provide the Security Requirements Checklist (SRC) or equivalent so that specific control attestations can be completed and signed prior to contract execution.

## 3.9 Knowledge Transfer & Transition

At engagement close, NimbleStride delivers a structured knowledge-transfer package including: (1) full source files and a documented design system (components, tokens, usage guidelines) handed over in ASHC's preferred format (e.g., Figma, Storybook); (2) a design rationale and decision log summarizing key choices and their alignment to ASHC requirements; (3) annotated prototypes and user-research findings archived in a shared repository; and (4) a minimum of two live handover sessions with ASHC staff — one focused on the design system and assets, one on research findings and future iteration guidance — with recordings provided for reference. All documentation is written to a standard that allows ASHC or a successor vendor to continue development without dependency on NimbleStride.

## 3.10 Work Location & Hours

Mohammed Yousuf Shariff resides in Chestermere, Alberta, Canada. All work will be performed within Canada during regular business hours. NimbleStride's primary working arrangement for this engagement is remote, with the principal and associates working from Alberta (Chestermere, AB). We are available for on-site sessions at ASHC's Edmonton or Calgary offices for key milestones — kick-off, co-design workshops, usability testing, and final handover — and will accommodate any on-site requirements specified in the SOW; travel and accommodation costs for such sessions would be confirmed and agreed in the contract.
